Project Lied is a collaborative work. Kinda. The whole thing is a rat maze and the rats all progress together, everyone in the game moving to the next Realm once the puzzle is completed. The puzzle, of course, is a song. Players most collaborate in finding sections of sheet music to put together a larger, complete piece. Players will find these sheets in a variety of ways: in quests, on enemies, or just randomly in areas while exploring. Each realm will have a boss, and the boss will possess one of the sheets.
While progress is collaborative, finding a sheet will mean a reward for players. Each sheet will be worth 50 bits once retrieved, and the boss's sheet will be worth 100 bits. Bits can be used to buy items to help in battle such as potions, new instruments, new weapons, and more!
Teams can collaborate in finding sheets, and split profits evenly.
To go to a new realm, the complete musical piece must be brought to the Gate, located in a certain distinct area of each Realm. Each sheet must be played in order by whomever retrieved it. Upon completion of the piece, each player, whether present or somewhere else in the realm, will collapse into a sudden sleep. They will awaken scattered in the next realm.
